I have a missed parcel from DHL, I called them yesterday and as I am off work at the moment I asked them to resend it today. They confirmed this was fine and that the parcel would be with me between 8am and 5pm.

So I got up early despite my pluerisy. Eagerly awaited my parcel.

It got to lunchtime and for the first time in quite a few days I felt well enough to get out and about. Had a shower, got dressed and decided to go for a very little walk. As I approached my front door I remembered about the parcel so thought I better stay in.

About an hour later I got really tired. Grabbed my blanket and got settled on the sofa. Just as I was dropping off I thought “bugger, the parcel” I won’t hear the knock on the door so I better wait up.

It got to 4.55pm, no parcel, so I called DHL. I explained I had waited in all day and had not recieved my parcel. She checks and says “ah, yes, the courrier says it was a bad address” I take offence and tell her I like at a very respectable address. She explains it means they don’t have the correct details.

I ask what details they have and she tells me all she can do is confirm what I say. I read my address out and she tells me they didnt have Chelmsford as the town listed. I asked if they had my house number, she confrimed they did. I asked if they have my street name, she confirmed they did. I asked if they have my postcode, she confirmed they did. I asked could he not ise sat nav or a map. She then explained that if they don’t have the full address details they will not deliver the parcel. They would rather not deliver than deliver to an incorrect address. Fair enough, but the address they had is the right fucking address??!!

Add DHL to my list of people/companies that need a mackarel slap to the mouth!

Honestly, I’ll post a happy post soon!!

I don’t want to come across as a moany old bint …. BUT

Just had a knock at the door. There stood a postman. He asked me what address this was. So I told him, he looked confused. I asked where he needed to post to, I advised him where to go. He thanked me, and went about his busines. In his defence our road is like a cul de sac with many roads coming off it and it’s very confusing.

But SURELY a postman should know his routes?? Its not like they just put the road there.

And here is the real crux of my rant. Why the hell is he out posting now? Its half past bloody five. In the afternoon. I remember a time when postman would be finishing their rounds at half past five, in the morning.

Royal mail have it all wrong these days.

Rant over.

**Note to self** do not turn this blog into a rantfest.

Having been ill since the start of the year I have now been diagnosed with pleurisy. I never realised breathing could be so painful. And coughing, ouch. As for sneezing … kill me now!
The dr at the hospital told me to take ibruprofen and co-codamol every six hours. Easily done.
The problem lies with the side affects. It’s never a good idea to read these but jesus now I am panicing. The constipation of co-codamol and the Diarrhea of ibruprofen seem to be waging a war in my tummy. I am feeling paranoid about hallucinating, but the paranoia may also be a side affect. It’s all so confusing.
On top of all that, the co-codamol box states that you must not take it for more than 3 days. Well today was day three, how do I combat the pain now?
On the plus side the war in my guts may come to an end … not my end.

On that cheerful note ….

Adios

Normally a super sunday for me involves a big football match two, or at least a lovely roast dinner. Neither of those things were on my agenda today and yet it was one of the best sundays I have had in a long time.

First … I was feeding the fish in our pond when I noticed at the side of the pond a frog!!! My other half Michael LOVES amphibians, so to know we have one in our pond was so exciting!!! I was shaking when I ran to get Michael, unfortunately by the time we got back the frog had dived to the botttom of the pond but at least we know we have a frog. As this little chap made his own way to us, travelling from goodness knows where, I have named him Phileas Frog.

Second … I was let into a secret, I won’t say much but all I can say is that I am really happy for someone I know and the very special in their life!!!

Third … The christening of my best friends beautiful little boy!!! What a wonderful day. Michael looked gorgeous and my son Ben looked reem!! The day was perfect, little Alfie looked so cute in his christening suit and his mum and dad looked like perfect parents!!

So there you have it …. a Super Sunday.

Now its time for a glass of wine, a big brother catch up, then hopefully an early night!

I’m not a fan of this hashtag …. mostly because people use it entirely out of context HOWEVER the following anecdote contains a bonafide #AwkwardMoment

At lunch at work today, a few of us are sat down. One guy is telling us how much he hates his life, his girlfriend etc etc ….. we try the obvious advice “leave the relationship” but he tells us she self harms so he would feel terrible.
Another guy at the table offers some sound advice, he has in the past had counselling and also worked as a counsellor. Doctor Depressed then asks if he means he should call the Samsons. He then realises the error of his way and corrects himself. Should he call the Saracens. It is pointed out that Lawrence Dallaglio probably wouldn’t help him.

I feel genuinely bad for this guy, he is a really nice person, but still this is a bit heavy for lunch time. So naturally I tweet about this turn events (follow me …. shabbybird) but at no point do I say who is invloved ….. it is shroud in secrecy

One of the guys (a good friend of mine) who works directly with Father Fuck My Life tweets back “I know who this is …. I put up with this daily!”

We naturally LOL.

A litttle while later Captain Can’t Be Arsed approaches me …. “I can’t belive you put this on twitter”

There is #ThatAwkwardMoment …. I don’t put things on twitter to offend but if you don’t follow me you are fair game for a mention surely?!

Moral of the story …. follow me on twitter, wouldn’t want #thatawkwardmoment when I am moaning about you on twitter to go unnoticed!

Treated myself to Tetris on the 3ds friday. I forgot how much I love this game, and also how highly addictive it is.
Ran myself a bath friday evening, it was a little hot to start so I had a little go on Tetris before the bath. Just over an hour later my other half came up and asked how the bath was …. I then realised I had totally forgotten about the bath and played for all that time.

It won’t be long before I’m dreaming of tetris.

On a side note, the game itself is awesome!! The 3D feature brings new life to old classic and it’s good to know I am still amazing at the game! I wish my reactions in real life were as ninjaesque as when I’m playing Tetris. I’d spend a lot less on crockery and glasses!
